Eating for running go hand and hand. If you learn to eat healthier and combine that with running you will lose weight faster.
Running is a great way to lose weight and get in shape. The sport alone cannot help you, if you run and don’t regulate your eating habits you will probably not see any fast results. You’ll only lose the weight if you burn more calories than you eat. Look at what you eat now, and try to only eat half of that. American meal portions are way too big filled with high calorie and fats. Try to eat more whole grains, fruits, vegetables and drink more water.
I often say this, but only after a marathon and that is … “I can’t wait to eat whatever I want”. After running a marathon I’ve burned up so much energy and carbs in my body that it is starving for me to replenish them. I love this feeling and keeps me motivated to run my next marathon. Too bad I only do it once a year, maybe I’ll have to do more. But the big mistake for some is that they over eat before a smaller race. So try not to overeat before running and try to get that a sense of that balance of how much you need to eat before a run. You can do this by keeping a meal diary and write down what you eat everyday.
If you are a beginner and don’t know how to get started into running, follow a beginners running training plan. Run at least 3-4 times a week and keep motivated.
