What is a transition area? Basically it’s the area where you prepare yourself for the next activity. If you are racing triathlons, the transition area is used twice.
1. When you complete your swim and switch to cycling.
2. When you complete your cycling and switch to running.
Before your race you need to properly setup your transition area so you can quickly change in and out. The transition time is included in your final time. If you can reduce the amount of time needed to transition between activities, you improve your overall triathlon completion time. This is one of the easiest way to try to improve your triathlon time.
